Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar National Research Fellowships (BANRF) 2018 - Online applications invited from the research scholar's belonging to Scheduled Castes of Maharashtra State who are registered for regular and full time M.Phil. and PhD for BNRF-2018 so as to encourage and support them economically.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar National Research Fellowships (BANRF) Details

• Hundred years ago, in 1913, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar undertook a Historic Journey to Columbia University, New York for Higher Studies.
• In grateful commemoration of this, Bharti invites applications from scheduled caste candidates for award of M Phil/Ph D fellowship.

Objective

• The fellowship has been initiated for SC candidates to provide them opportunity to undertake advanced studies and research
• The objective of this award is to provide fellowships in the form of financial assistance to the students belonging to SC category to pursue higher studies leading to MPhil and PhD degrees (full-time) in Humanities and
• Social Sciences, and Sciences, Engineering & Technology, in Indian Universities/Institutions / Colleges approved under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act and in Non-Universities / Institutions
• The salient feature of BANRF schemes are on the lines of Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) scheme for SC students, for pursuing M.Phil/PhD any amendments in the scheme of RGNF in future may be made applicable to BANRF 

Number of Fellowships

• Female (50%) - M.Phil. 21 Seats & PhD - 32 [Total - 53 Seats]
• General Male & Female - M.Phil. 20 Seats & PhD - 29 [Total - 49 Seats]
• Persons with Disability (3%) - M.Phil. 01 Seats & PhD - 02 [Total - 03 Seats]

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Applicant must belong to Scheduled Caste Category & domicile of Maharashtra State,who has passed the Post- Graduation examination in any discipline/Subject/Branch.
2. Applicant applying for BANRF – 2018 must be registered for M. Phil./ Ph.D. in Indian
   Universities / Institutions / Colleges approved under UGC only. Not Registered
   applicants are not eligible to apply BANRF 2018.
3. Applicant applying for BANRF 2018 must have their M.Phil. /Ph.D. Admission/
   Registration date on or after 20th July 2017 to 10th December 2018 or Last date of
   Online Application Submission date of BANRF 2018.
4. Age of applicant should not exceed more than 40 years as on the 10th December
   2018 or last date of online application submission date.
5. All-inclusive family Annual Income of the applicants should not be more than INR
   6 lakhs.

Benefits (under BANRF) 2018

• Selection candidates for M.Phil. Fellowship, will be paid Rs.25000/- per month up to two years or as per academic period prescribed by concerned University/Institute
• Selected candidates for PhD fellowship will be paid Rs.25000/- per month (JRF) for the initial two years and Rs.28000/- per month (SRF) for 3rd years subject to submission of up-graduation certificate and other relevant documents
• Selected candidates are eligible to draw House Rent Allowance (HRF) and Contingency amount as per Govt. Rules and Regulation

• All fellowship benefits of BANRF - 2018 for selected candidates will be disbursed from the Date of Registration Admission to their University/Institute. Eligible applicant can apply only through online application process for BANRF 2018. Offline applications will not be entrained
